Or at least that’s what I was told.
went to company A to load a corrosive blend. Took it to their customer, company B, 30 minutes away who analyze it, put their manufacturer name on their BOL and send me off to their customer 1000 miles away.
took longer to get the coa from them (company B) than it took to load at company A.
its a common occurrence in many markets but I’ve never seen it firsthand or knew it was called a blind load...maybe theres another name for it?
the way it was written up on my orders i thought i screwed up when i picked up a single at the wash instead if a multi-compartment. Was expecting to pick up two separate loads.
Even our cust serv rep or my dm didn't have a clue about it. They told me ur was a multi load as well.
weird stuff.
BTW, jessies kitchen next to pilot in monee, IL is the shhhhhhhhhhhhizzle!!
Did my first “Blind Load” today.

I.ve picked up "blind" loads that the bol had different delivery address than where it was going. Last time I ever did one, bol showed Chicago and it was going to Oklahoma, out of California. They told me not to say anything, but when I was asked at the shipper where I was really going i wouldn't lie. Broker got mad. Oh well.

Usually a blind load has to with politics.
Customer doesn't want to buy directly from a certain manufacturer, so it is made to look like it was made at another plant.Coffey, alds and TheIncredibleBulk Thank this. -
I'm glad your sample passed.
Sounds like these two outfits have one of those contract manufacturing agreements that are so common in the world of dry goods.Coffey and TheIncredibleBulk Thank this. -
You want to hear about a blind load.... a big percentage of wisconsin cheese isn’t made in wisconsin.... went into it blind... got blindsided, and then they don’t tell the public

My only blind load was in California. Agent told me to lie to the shipper about the destination.
I called corporate and ask wtf? I said, " Since when do we start lieing to the customers.?"
I told the truth. Shipper was pissed. Dunno whatever happened to her.alds, TheIncredibleBulk and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
Don't know why some get upset with blind loads. Do hundreds of them a year.
