Check where the wiring goes around the hood hinge

 

I did take out both headlights last night. And I found that my driver headlight bulb plug was loose, which Im gonna guess caused the draw on the switch.

The circuit breakers never popped, but the relays did their job. Tomorrow morning Im going to start at the headlights, and check the wiring, voltage, amp draw and resistance on each side. See what that turns up and go from there.

Diagnosing electrical isn't my strong suit, but I gotta have this fixed by Sun night/Mon morning.

 

The communist state doesn't seem to want to release us. Delayed at both pick ups. Have only 2 hours left to get loaded and make it to the TA. Which is 30 minutes away. Luckily if I run out of time. My trainer will be able to run us there.

 

You may have also burnt a contactor in the relay. Try switching it out with another in the fuse block. I would do that before chasing wires. I always carry a extra one in the glove box. Sometimes it's just a matter of bending the tabs on the relay a little and stick it back in. If you need to steal one I use the horn relay

I used to loose my dash lights going down the road....which meant I lost my running lights.

Kick the fuse block cover and they'd come back on. It seems when it gets cold some mornings I still have to open the cover and wiggle a relay sometimes. It's one of those things that come with running old trucks.

 

Loose/poor connection = less amp draw.

When resistance increases, amps decrease (assuming source voltage remains the same). Loose connections generate heat because you're using up your voltage trying to push through the unwanted high resistance, rather than powering the accessory.

 

Bittersweet evening. Only 1 more gym session before a 4 week shutdown. But, nailed a 405 lb deadlift 100% raw!
