He's got a LOT more free time & patience than I do. I wont even do a basic install in my current truck cause I am afraid that, about the time I do, they'll give me another truck & I'll have to uninstall & reinstall.

There's gotta be a better way.

That is an incredible amount of work, but he did an awesome job. The mystery to me is the display. It looks like it's sitting on the wires somehow. I would have used some 3M double sided tape and stuck the display to the side of of the counsel. But it looks like it's standing up by itself. Not sure how he has that display mounted. Unless he's just relying on the strength of the cat 5 cables maybe??
Crude Truckin' Thanks this. -
This is something CB manufacturers should have been doing for the last 20 + years, but sadly CB has been incredibly slow to evolve. Heck most amateur radios offer a remote head. But not CB....nope.

I thought it was a lot easier just to replace my center console with one designed for my radio.

That’s a great job, guess I’m not that motivated. I put a Uniden 510 in dash of my Toyota, it just fits in the slot

Works for the driver. Works for me.

Impressive. I'd be interested in knowing how long before it has a problem. Lots of new connections.

Wow.
Some of us, you know, work for a living. That's a LOT of hours. And I mean, a LOT of freaking hours. Not sure I understand the "why", except maybe he was laid off and had no hot neighbor ladies to chase.
