I was in the loading dock waiting to be loaded and the my load was cancelled, while I was in the dock. No 24 hours, No call! they sent me an email but of course I didn't see it until I learned the load was cancelled. They also cancelled 2 other loads earlier in the week( I know that's the trucking business) BUT to cancel a load while I'm in the dock and only trying to send me a $150 truck not used pay.
When I call them they keep giving me the run around. I booked that load and traveled over night to get there on time in the morning. How can they just keep doing this and it's not only them!!!!
I AM NEW TO THIS SO IM ASKING IF THIS IS JUST THE NATURE OF THE BUISNESS?
What can I do as an owner operator to keep from being Jacked over by these Companies like UBER

Simple.Dont haul for them. 150 tonu is more than alot of brokers would pay. Put them on the do not use list and go on about ur life.
feldsforever, 86scotty, Dino soar and 3 others Thank this. -
At least they pay tonu. They canceled a load on me recently, luckily they gave me a couple days notice but stuff happens.
singlescrewshaker, D.Tibbitt and TruckStrong15 Thank this. -
So if that's the game I will just move on and take it as a lost but its so unfair to us as truckers. I'm still learning.singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -

Well I'm not giving you a hard time at all, but you have to constantly check your emails.
With that being said you'll have to tell us when they gave you the notice through email but sometimes stuff happens.
And just a suggestion, maybe you could try to pick up not so far away from wherever you're at?
Or maybe try to make sure wherever you are picking up that it is a good area that you can find other loads out of there if there's a problem?
If you can find another load close to there it's like getting an extra $150.
I know that's not always possible, but just some ideas. -
Why not lease on to a company? Let someone else worry about that stuff. You're a driver.
Now if you want to deal with the paperwork, get some more trucks. You can schedule the loads and deal with those headaches and get paid for it. -
So did the email arrive notifying you about the cancellation prior to your arrival and you just didn't see it until you were backed in? And why did they even back you into a door if the load had already cancelled?
