Maybe a hint or 2 or 7 would help.
Roger McG and hopeful eyes Thank this. -
I had to google it.. I do all that is included in that process, but in a different order and it's a list of my own making. The 7 step process I found online seems to skip a proper air brake check.
hopeful eyes Thanks this. -
Never heard of the 7 step but yes thorough pretrip/post trip every time.
Turn key , hit all lights, pop my hood, check fluids, check lines for leaks, inspect brakes make sure I got no cracks and bends. Start it up build up air pressure release trailer brake knob and set trailer trolley brakes to check for air leaks and do a walk around. Climb under trailer to make sure fifth wheel is locked and look at the rest of my tractor brakes. Walk my trailer thumping all 6 axles of tires and making sure I got lights and dot tape. Then check my fire valves and emergency shut offs.(Tanker)
Shut every thing down again and do a quick brake check( whole process takes about 15 minutes.
Anytime the truck leaves my sight I recheck my fifth wheel before I take off.(slight paranoia)homeskillet, magoo68 and 91B20H8 Thank this.
