Can it be done? I and driving a Coronado now with an 18 speed and my left knee is wrecked from an accident. I have a 2000 W900 X15 / 13 speed that needs the transmission replaced... Could full on Ultra Shift be swapped in it’s place and made to work? It’s a great truck that has a newly rebuilt engine and a fresh CVIP and ready to roll so it deserves a transmission regardless but, could I get an Ultrahift in there? Anyone have prices?

The transmission install is super easy. Its the electrical wiring and ECM programming thats going to be the hardest and most expensive part. Expect to be in the $10k+ price range.
-
Were there even 2 pedal autos back then? Might be limited to the earlier, 3 pedal models.
-
$10K would be worth it to me just to save that knee. I’d lose more than that selling the truck and buying a newer one with an Automated and then end up being into something with Emissions.baha Thanks this. -
This can be done. The easiest and cheapest way would be to find a Coronado with an Ultrashift in a wrecking yard and buy the shifter, wiring harness (there are 2: one on the transmission and one that goes to the ECM) and of course, the transmission itself.
I looked on truckpaper and there are a few Coronados for sale with Eaton Ultrashifts. Here's the VIN from a 2011:
BF5862
Or do you want to convert the W900 to Ultrashift?RubyEagle Thanks this. -
What is the difference between the two? -
You will need to find a W900 with Ultrashift if that's what you have in order to get the proper wiring harness, shifter, clutch, etc.
-
It would be a lot of wiring to add to a truck. You'd almost need a donor truck to make it work and I dont think a 2000 came with a no clutch auto shift. But don't take our word for it, find a shop to ask. But I'm sure you'd be money ahead to buy a truck with an auto

Whats the story on the w900, wanna sell it right?
