Picked up this trailer this morning and the ABS light came on and won't go off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The code that is popping up is ABS 520216 31

My husband is the one driving. I took the picture from the passenger seat.

If you just picked up the trailer, the problem is with the ABS sensor on the trailer. If you're going to drop the trailer someplace, the problem will go away then. If you plan on having the trailer for a while get the sensors looked at.

Probably the trailer has a bad sensor. Unplug the trailer and see if it goes away.

Can also set some abs codes if there is a bad connection at the cord that plugs in to the trailer.

I unplugged it at the connection for the light. Blew on it and wiped off any dust on it. Still on. I am going to have it looked at when stopped.

    Thanks

If you mean the actual light on the side of the trailer....That's not how electrical to a light works. If it's on, you aren't going to get it to go out by cleaning it. The opposite will work as a bad connection can keep a light from coming on. The ABS light is on because there is an issue with the ABS system on the trailer.

Hold on, oh shoot, you mean taking the actual light itself out and blowing in that area won't fix my problem. ####, now I know what I did wrong

No, I did not mean the actual light. I meant the actual connector where the wires connect female to the male connector.

Yes, I know there is a problem with my ABS. I was asking if anyone might know what that SPECIFIC code was.

It means your trailer abs has a fault.

Most drivers refer the the connection between the truck and trailer as the 7 way plug/connector. You said “I blew out the wires for the light”, I thought worked on the abs light itself also.

ABS sensor(s) could’ve been knocked loose(it does happen) or there’s another underlying problem with that system. Either way it needs to be looked at. DO NOT be one of those drivers that unplug the ABS light on the trailer-that’s asking for trouble(it’s installed for a reason). If left unchecked you could possibly have a thermo event (brake/trailer fire). Who manufactured the trailer(Utility,Great Dane,Hyundai,CIMC,etc.)?
