Then why didn't you say you disconnected the trailer electrical supply line and cleaned it out. Like noted above, the trailer has an ABS issue.

Thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for. It's just a 2 way plug.
No, we stopped yesterday. Waiting @ the trailer repair shop now. They believe it is a relay, but checking everything out to be safe.
It is a utility trailer. -
We stopped yesterday. It is being looked at now.
The manufacture is utility -
Always something with Utility trailers(either ABS or tandem lock pin issues).
Dave_in_AZ and Jenn72 Thank this. -
Are you referring to the orange or amber light on the rear drivers side of the trailer? It should be on solid when the key is on to indicate a fault. Cleaning there will do nothing, the other poster was suggesting to clean the 7 way plug at the front of the trailer, that’s where the abs system gets it’s power. The center pin has 12 volt positive when the key is on.

I cleaned the electrical connector (under trailer, inside frame) where the amber light is and the one where the 7 way plug at the front.
The reason I checked the back one where the light is because I have had a trailer in the past where that connection was bad.kylefitzy and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Did it clear when you unplugged it from the tractor?
-
Yes, then when I plugged it in again it popped back up.
It's in the shop now.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
It's not the tractor. It's something with the trailer. When they do the Landstar inspections, and some DOT do this as well, chock your wheels, push your tractor valve in, turn the key on. You'll hear your abs modules cycle. I think that's how it goes. I asked one guy what he looks for when he does that, and he said did you hear your abs modules pop?Jenn72 Thanks this.

AutoZone, O'Reilly's, NAPA, $5 for a 5 ounce tube of Dielectric conductive grease, squirt some into each hole in the connector plug on your electrical pigtail, solving 90% of trailer lighting and ABS issues, especially this time of year with road salt getting into every tiny nook and cranny.
Jenn72 Thanks this.
