Starting Schneider Bulk

I did the TSA portion prior to leaving for orientation. Schneider reimbursed me during orientation. I came home to a letter from the DMV showing that I was cleared, so I went in the next day, took the endorsement test and walked out with my new license.

 

I have been rather busy. I think they have taken a rather big bite out of this newbie.

Bobtail Charlotte, NC to Savannah, GA. Pick up empty, to live load in Riceboro, GA to unload in New York, NY. Drop Dirty in Keasby, NJ grab a clean empty to Baltimore, MD, live loaded to Calhoun, GA, unload. Take Dirty to Conley, GA, grab relay to Dalton, GA. One more dirty swap in Conley, then drop an empty in Winder, GA. Bobtail to Greenville. Park for the holiday with 40 minutes left on my 70.

2 live loads, 3 unloads, over 2,000 miles.

Got sent a pre-assignment Sunday that had me picking up a trailer in Duncan, South Carolina I was loaded somewhere near Greensboro, North Carolina Monday by 2PM and sent on my way to Chicago.

I’m currently watching the snowfall here in Gary, Indiana at the Schneider facility. Delivery is tomorrow at 10 AM on the west side of Chicago.

I do not like driving in West Virginia mountains the curves on the interstate it’s not a relaxing drive, I’m overly cautious and conscience of the cargo I’m hauling and I do not like corners. I don’t know how some of these other tanker guys sail on through.

I know confidence comes with experience but I also do not want confidence to become arrogance. For now I’ll just stick to easing my way through.

On another note, considering I technically only drove Wednesday through Wednesday if that week of driving split between two pay periods were combined into one to check I’ll be rather happy here.
