To those of you on DAT, take a look at the rates going in to the bad weather into the northeast, especially PA from what I've seen. There are 4418 uncovered loads in going within 200 miles of York at the moment, paying up to $25,000. Lots of $8000 loads out of TX and CA today. Brokers are obviously panicking.

I'm not volunteering but it is entertaining.

How common is this? Do you O/Os that sling iron and run the spot market do well in winter because of it?

They wouldn’t like northern Ontario then!! I just drove through snow for 4 hours last night from marathon to Thunder Bay. Minimum 8” of snow on the road. Snow plows had even pulled off the road at one point.

A lot of jockeying for position going on right now by both truckers and shippers.

I pulled my trucks out of the NE just in time and brokered the loads out that are heading there. Outbound rates out of the NE are spiking for tomorrow. So things are in major flux right now. NJ is doing a snow emergency tomorrow from what I’m told by my guys.

    Coffey and 86scotty Thank this.

When I lived in NY we got roads opened. That was before this country got overloaded with wimps and idiots.

@D.Tibbitt This reply also works for your comment on PA and 2 snowflakes.
