My 2020 Freightliner has the automatic braking and adaptive cruise. It works good. I think lots drivers have the Bendix system and that seems to have lots of problems. I think the Freightliner system is a Mercedes Benz system

It was mostly experience from my last truck, a 2017 Cascadia.
Maybe they have worked out a few things since then?hopeful eyes Thanks this. -
Might want to rethink this. According to Smith system training there were more wrecks on a truck with a backup camera than without. What happens is the driver focuses on the camera and not on what the truck is doing and the front of the truck swings around and hits something.hopeful eyes Thanks this.

Many 'safety features' seem to be nothing but a distraction from actually driving safely.
The best safety feature is a driver actually G.etting O.ut A.nd L.ooking!okiedokie and Cattleman84 Thank this. -
I don’t know my truck and my cars have none of the nanny features. I manage to make it everywhere safely and on time with no wrecks. Have for 30 plus years. If you need that crap to drive safely then your lacking in safe driving skills
okiedokie Thanks this. -
And yet the powers that be seem to think we need them all the same.
They are here now, probably with more coming each year or so.
Some of us have to learn to deal with them.
You have been fortunate that you haven't had to, so far. -
Wilson Logistics limits their trucks to 62mph? Is this a safety thing or mpg thing? How common is this - what is a more "normal" top speed limit in the industry

Speed limit
-
A few years ago Swift raised our speed to 65.
And we can get to 67 for limited times to pass those marginally slower trucks a bit faster.
I really hate those trucks that have about a 3 feet per minute faster speed than me, that still insist on passing me.
Really? For that small margin?
I will hold my speed, letting that driver back up traffic for miles, until he is about to cut me off. Then I will back down to 60 to get the room I need to be safe.
I won't make it easy for those jerks.meechyaboy and gräkken Thank this.
