Ooida won’t accept that. They know better. I may be wrong. They’ll probably request another estimate. Maybe send someone out. This is where conflict of interest comes into play. Their interests include the members, you and others. Kind of hard to fight against a group you belong to. They’re not an actual insurance company, but a risk retention group. Don’t really know the Legalities, but I’ve been through 2 claims with them. Not always easy. Not exactly fast either. Good Luck, it’ll work out one way or another.

Idk I spoke to the claim adjuster today. She told me she needed a pic of the Vin then she'll mail me the check. I always thought they mailed mailed check to the body shopRideandrepair Thanks this.

Best to get the check sent to you. I learned that after hitting a deer at Christmas time. 4 days down, and $500 deductible paid. Next time, I got the check, bought a bumper, put it on myself. Had money left over. Once I actually told an adjuster that I planned on fixing it myself. He told Me he used to own a small Trucking company. They opened their own body shop, after a few yrs. Totally Legit. Some people claim it’s illegal, Insurance fraud. That’s BS. You’re insured for the cost to repair. You can decide to do work yourself. They can ask for proof it’s repaired, to continue insuring your Truck. I was still negotiating my first minor claim, when I totaled the Truck. It was a mess for them figuring it all out. Took 2 months to settle. You never know, sometimes it works in your favor, sometimes it doesn’t. Hope all works out good for you. Shouldn’t have to lose money over it. Maybe have a little left over to cover downtime, or buy some new steers? Straight pipes, custom paint? LolLast edited: Dec 17, 2020

@Wespipes Aww that's how car insurance works but not for trucks. They will record in your file a "loss run" (ask about it) that will stay on your record for years.
The crazy thing about the insurance business is it's secret information on how they calculate your "rates". They can make it up as" based on the market" thing and never disclose how they got there premium totals.
I've had 2 insurance companies cancel my policy in my 11 years in business right after a no fault of mine accident. Great West. And Lancer.
Truck insurance business is ONLY to make money, if they have to pay for anything they'll get it back next renewal by going up and they'll save that "claim" to pass it on to there other insurance compentition buddy. -
Should have checked neighboring trucks for dashcam also. I've seen where a dash cam directly across in another truck got the action. Makes my blood boil someone would just drive away. Disgraceful.Midwest Trucker Thanks this.
