OK, It's been a little over two and a half hours since anyone's posted. Think I will just to make sure this thread doesn't die out. (smiley face here)

Give a good long blast of the air horn as you pass my home 20... I'm still 3 days out from there, but my boy loves trucks that honk.

LMAO. I'm familiar with the Garson route, it's getting about the same wind speeds + more ice right now. If I'm gonna tip I'd prefer to do it where I get found before I'm an too frozen. Got 43 in the van, think I'm contemplating crawling across elk. Wish me luck, I'll at least make Laramie today.

So prohibiting their trucks from 70 west of Denver must be a fairly common thing then. IIRC according to @Wasted Thyme they're not allowed to go that way either.

Back in the day JBHunt would fire you for driving on 70 west of Denver, any time of the year. Guys were just frying the trucks.

If it's just windy on Elk then I take US30 through Medicine Bow. But I run US26 ALOT in the winter to avoid closures and poor conditions on I-80.
