I am not very familiar with the Auto/Ultra shift trannies, but we have a very good Allison mechanic in our area. I think he has done swaps already. We have a 2013 t800 that we bought with an Allison in it. Our older drivers really like it, but it is below the dignity of a Super Trucker to run an auto. I think the Allison is more reliable than the automated manuals out there, at least that is what I am told.

The air assist in my new T880 takes less pressure than my old Toyota 4-Runner.
Tug Toy Thanks this. -
Yeah you can swap it for anything, another manual, an Allison, an ultrashift, the computer module is separate from the engines ecm, personally if you're gonna spend all that money to convert you might as well go with an Allison, they have seamless shifts and are so smooth to drive, doesn't jerk and bounce all over the place each shift like an ultrashift does and they are super reliable as long as you keep up on filter and oil changesRubyEagle Thanks this.
