Hey everyone, I'm dealing with an '07.5 Granite with the MP7 engine. Intermittently it will shut down on its own, and when it does the ABS light comes on. Then the truck will not restart until it sits for a while. I cannot see any correlation between the ABS light and the truck shutting down, but has anyone ever experienced anything like this? All battery connections are good and clean, no CEL, and it has a new ignition switch.

Your engine ECM and ABS module are all part of your j1939 data link. It is more than likely a wiring issue with the data link. If you don't have experience with this, you may be pissing down wind.

check to make sure all starter cables are tight also most of the time if it has a main power shutoff that is usually the culprit, you should have codes in some of ecu for improper shutdown, also check ecm power wiring maybe something is almost ready to go.

anyone work on the brakes or wheels hubs, wondering if they forgot to put the tooth ring back on or installed something incorrectly and if your truck is trying to do a passive regen and picks up a intermittent abs signal that shows a fault and it could mess with the ecm and the acm and believe be i know its not supposed to but it can and it can cause shut down light especialy if you have old hardware version on your modules
when does the truck shut down -

I have 2010 Mack Pinnacle with a mp8 engine.. Truck guard dog says check air filter and shuts down while I’m driving sometimes.. It’s more like the Truck stutter/misfire engine derate then regain power while driving then sometimes it just shutdown completely.. No default codes showing on dash nor on a computer.. And ideas where to start a look?
