Voltage problem

    voltage started out at 13.1 (usually 14.4) then after idling for about an hour or two voltage is at 15.1 and climbs 0.1 about every 20 minutes. If I give it gas it's goes to 16.0 pretty quickly and stays there or higher. Just got a new alternator (they said and it looks like new, though haven't had the best Ryder experiences). This is the issue I brought it in for but they "couldn't duplicate" the issue; any ideas?

    Need more information. Year engine transmission. Does the truck have a battery cut off switch? Typically they cause a voltage drop.

    Also do you have an inverter or a battery combiner (something to charge the APU battery)?

    On Freightliner there is a five amp fuse for the alternator voltage sense wire, when it blows I get high voltage like you.
    I don’t know if Volvo has similar setup.
