The company gives you 150k-200k rig to drive, the insurance company lowers the rate when the camera`s are installed, if you are involved in accident then the camera could save you & the company some money.
If i was an owner operator i would install driver facing camera`s too.
I wish state troopers would give more tickets for people talking on the phone while driving.

Or being at the shipper/receiver and moving the truck 2-3 feet without your seatbelt on?Mototom, foggy, bentstrider83 and 2 others Thank this. -
My driver facing camera can be blocked by “aggressive use of a sun visor”. And I’ve been slapped on the wrist in the safety department for it.
The problem is, our camera feed is now monitored by either an algorithm or a 3rd party. So I play the game when I have to.
Also, I’ve noticed no shortage of incoming phone calls FROM the office since the new cameras were installed. So, it’s enforced only when it benefits THEM, but if they need you to reach out? #### the regulations!Jarhed1964, nredfor88, MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Demand for final mile delivery is the craziest I’ve ever seen. I could probably make more with Doordash or Amazon than some office jobs I’ve worked.foggy, bentstrider83, nredfor88 and 1 other person Thank this. -
A company with 50 trucks roughly cost 1 million to insure. If a cam company says we’ll save you 5k per truck if you install these. What do you think a company gonna do? Leave 250k on the table? Insurance for a O/O cost 20k a year. This is the reality of company driver. Insurance keeps going up to a breaking point. A local mom & pop endump with couple hundred trucks had to put them in my area.
Banker Thanks this. -
No thanks.truckguy391 and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
This billboard is exactly the reason every professional driver needs a camera to document what really happened in an accident. The camera does not lie in court and the attorneys hate them. One of my better friends was an Attorney for the Hammer. She viewed my footage after I was sideswiped. She said “I couldn’t defend that lady with your evidence, but I sure could without your video”.
