Haven’t crossed a NC scale in years, don’t plan on it either. Couple months back a pick up rear ended a big truck backed up into the northbound enfield scales on 95, same thing down in lumberton a few years ago. Stupid weigh masters playing on there phones don’t watch what’s going on just so trucks can roll across the scales. #### them while I’m at it #### every weight station in the country.

Safe following distance seems to be something that is misunderstood by most. People always take the opportunity to pull in front of me just because I leave as much space as possible between myself and the vehicles ahead. We're still traveling at the same speed but without being up each others sphincters, then some jackwagon pulls right in front reducing my line of sight for recognizing dangers ahead and putting me in danger of rear ending them if they jump on the brakes.
Anyone who prioritizes revenue over saftey by creating a line of trucks out onto the shoulder of the highway should be stripped of any pension and left to flip burgers after serving a sentence for negligent homicide or attempted vehicular manslaughter or some other form of incompetence.
It's bad enough that we have to dodge idiots on the highway, add on top of it being legally obligated to stop for scales even though in some instances it obviously puts you and others lives in jeopardy.
As soon as that accident happened a driver should've gone in the scale house to find out whose job it was to hit the switch for the bypass signal then dragged that worthless peice of excrement out to make him watch as drivers were peeled out of the wreckage.
It really irritates me when something like this happens. Obviously the driver shouldn't rearend anyone if he's driving at a safe speed and following distance. How many times has a truck pulled in front of you to make a scale house and blocked your sight, happens to me routinely. I'd hate to have been in that situation.mjd4277, Road*Runner, scottied67 and 11 others Thank this. -
