    Hello friends,
    I own a kenworth 2010 T800 Cummins isx,

My oil filter keep chocking after running for a while but when I turn my truck off and back on then the problem goes away. Then again after 2-3 hours it starts to choke again. When I change the filter, it goes 2 weeks without any problems and then will start chocking again. The fuel average is fine, power is fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    JMon Thanks this.

    Maybe choking?
    As in clogging up?

The problem is probably not the oil filter, but something upstream from that.
What is getting into your oil?
Maybe ripping open a clogged filter will give a clue.

Bring it to a cummins dealer, this has been an issue with a few engines in the past.

By “chocking” I mean the oil pressure goes down and truck shuts off. If I manually turn the truck off and after 5 minutes it’s fine for 2-3 hours. When it starts shutting down because of the oil pressure becoming so low again (chocking) I change the oil filter and it runs with no problems for 2-3 weeks.

I know what you are talking about and I will repeat this - take it to Cummins.

Sorry to say, but those symptoms are never good and need to be taken care of right away. It's usually a combustion issue.. can be the turbo, the EGR system, or other issues. When mine was doing it we had a bad EGR valve and cooler. Replacement of those two solved my oil filter clogging early issues.

So, yeah, get it into a reputable shop.

Most likely your filter is becoming clogged with soot , what kind of miles are you running between drains ?
