Good luck!!!! Hope to see you on the road soon, I'll help if i can! Just pay attention, take notes, keep your nose clean, value the contacts u make! They will help you too! They will tell you that most will not be here in 90 days, it is true, its already happening with some from my class. Communication is key and ask for help with minor issues before they are major ones! Have fun relax take it all in, make the time worthwhile and remember you have a huge support network here too! I have enjoyed this thread from it’s beginning. I’m not a driver but enjoy living vicariously through all your posts. Vette, why is it that most do not last more than 90 days? That’s just weird to put in that much effort and not last any longer than 3 months. What do you think causes most to fail?

Will they bend on the 1 yr otr. I have 12 yrs local, 8 western and some up and down I-5 at Market Transport.

 

P.S. I cross state lines every day ( Ca.,Nv) and have a ton of snow/ice experience. Will they pass me over because no 48 state experience?

 

Many reasons....
Not being able to run their own business.
Needing to be micro managed.
Not able to drive more than 500 miles a day.
Not able to make p/u's and deliveries on time.

There is a lot of reasons, some people are just not going to like the way JCT runs, and some just are not able to run hard enough to make any money.

Every company has a group of people that will always find a reason to blame someone else for their own short comings as you have seen in some of the early pages in the thread, they are simply never going to accept responsibility for their actions.

All of that to say this, JCT will do everything in their power to make you succeed. Your first 4 weeks you don't have a truck payment, they make sure you start of with a full fuel tank, pay all yout tolls....... If you fail, I honestly don't think its JCT.
