It should be adjustable unless the brake disc has failed.

If after you pay the shop to ck. if you have enough clutch brake to get it adj. if not then they cut it out and put in a 2 section clutch brake that does not make them take out trans. Any truck parts store sells the 2 part clutch brake? Its important to tell them you know about the 2 part brake so they do not sell you a clutch job that you may not need.
Dave_in_AZ, xsetra and 062 Thank this. -
Talked to Volvo today, they said some are adjustable. I'll know tomorrow.
Interesting about the 2 section deal, I'll discuss that with them. -
Someone explain how it is adjusted?
every one of them I have replaced or truck driven never had an adjustment. -

A 2016 Volvo VN has a hydraulic clutch. To adjust it you start by using a bar or
a length of wood to hold the clutch pedal to the floor. You then go under the
truck and remove the small 4"x 6" cover from the bottom of the bell housing.
You will probably need to rotate the engine to get the adjuster to the bottom.
The adjuster has 2 3/8" bolts holding it in place and a 5/8" hex in the middle
for adjusting the clutch.
Once the adjuster is at the bottom you push it in to unlock it and turn it clockwise.
I would start with 1 turn at a time till you are happy with the adjustment. Make sure the adjuster pops back out once done.baha Thanks this. -
The clutch itself doesn't need adjusted, just the brake. I can't put it into gear without grinding to get the gears to stop.
Just talked to Volvo, they want to replace the clutch.
Going to talk with the other shop I use, and see what they estimate. -
