I changed my oil filter (LF14000NN) from a bulk pack I bought. This new one looks off with that rubber piece and no holes on the sides like most filters have. Is that rubber piece supposed to come out or stay in? I've changed this filter before but am having a brain fart and I tried a baldwin filter last time so I cannot check and compare.

That looks like a fuel filter to me

It stays in. They upgraded the filter, and got rid of the venturi. You should have another rubber gasket that goes around the outside, though. Not sure if you removed it for clarification in the pic.
