I saw 2 mid size company's go under in the last 2 years, that I knew people at.
Both company's had people in orientation when they closed.
They did not warn the office staff, drivers or anyone.
One of them had drivers stuck in there trucks on the road out of fuel because cards were canceled.
My guess is that the only way they will make it is if another company swallows them up for there contracts. But they probibly have too much debt for anyone to want to take it on.
TMC tried to move into my last company's main contract last year. They under bid us bad, but the company would not bite. -
If they go...So what? They have done it to themselves! Sleazebag companies like TMC have done more damage to this industry than any regulation ever did.
The arrogant attitude that some of their drivers have displayed over the years was spoon fed to them by a sleazy company that is now going to reap the benefits of their own arrogance & stupidity!Big Duker Thanks this. -

American Greed Or if you will Corporate Greed.
what goes around comes around/ what goes up must come down... hard -
Having worked in an administrative position in a carrier that nearly folded, I can tell you that when a company stops paying bills and drivers have trouble getting fuel, repairs, and other things normally purchased with open charge accounts that things are on shaky ground. Keep your eyes and ears open and keep enough cash or credit on hand to get yourself home if you are stranded and unable to get fuel.

I got a question for everybody. Of those that have posted in this thread, how many of you actually work for TMC? I recognize some of the posters but the majority, I don't.
I have worked for TMC for 2 years and things have changed. I never understood why they washed trucks every week anyway, waste of money. Turning the trucks down did bite, but dealt with it. Never had prepass/ezpass. Run dedicated and never needed it. Truck has been fixed when it needed to be, checks deposited just like normal.
As for the court filings. I'm sure every large company probly has a docket list that's longer than your arm.
The reason why I asked the question is because since I started I have heard rumors of sale and everything else. Even had a Swiftie tell that Swift had bought them out. I don't put much credit to rumors or stories by drivers who most likely don't and haven't work for TMC. -
hey man i am set to be on a grayhound for iwoa on sat, what i'm asking is since they don't have the becon anymore how much do you wash your truck? also do they give you a heads up on how many tolls your going to have to pay per trip? are you on miles or %
-
I wash my truck every two weeks now. There is a local Mom&Pop place near where I run dedicated out of.
I know how much my tolls will be just from repetition. I'm sure there is a website that you can look up how much tolls would be for whatever toll road you are on. I don't think TMC tells you how much you tolls will be.
