Call the California labor board. Give them details of your employment. Ask them if not withholding taxes is normal?

    Good luck.

Its a scam.. just search out threads that talk about 1099 companies.. they are no in the business to make you money.. they are there to make themselves money. Drivers are pretty much become completely replaceable and not worth much to the industry. Drivers have made this so. So on average... drivers better seek all the protection that they can get as an EMPLOYEE.. You are setting yourself to take all the risks for no real reason

I have always been 1099, before you call any one . Look at how much you are making, the experience you are getting. How are you treated.. Can you do better? If so move on.

Tru using TurboTax online. You can get advise from tax experts. They’ll make sure you’re doing it right. It will cost. But it’s worth it.
I hope you’ve been saving receipts for everything. When 1099 you can write off a ton of stuff.

workers comp isn’t health insurance. If you get hurt on the job they pay medical plus if you lose work they pay you each week. Get disabled they pay until you get on ss disability.

Serious question. Why are you with a 1099 company straight out of school? There are 100's of W2 Companies to choose from. Criminal record? DMV record issues? Failed drug screen? I don't understand how you ended up with this company straight out of school. You don't have to answer if you choose not to. Just seems unusual.

It's probably ANOTHER trucking company illegally classifying you as a 1099 independent contractor so they can not pay taxes.
