Back when we had air drive windshield wipers you could bump them a couple times and break up the ice buildup.

I see it’s a Classic. I wonder if the bug shield is making it worse. Causing more snow on top of windshield. Definitely add some rubbing alcohol to the washer fluid. Maybe try the shorter blades. Same type, bolt on, but shorter.

Know the op can’t use these . But I bought a set haven’t installed them yet tho......like a rear windows defroster for the edges of the windshield.
Frost Fighter Wiper Parking Area Defrosters -
There was an O/O that Invented/marketed heated wipers. They used to be advertised in Trucking magazines. Sounds like a Truckers story, I know. But I recall the article on him, and his invention. That was about 25 yrs ago. Never see them anymore.

I had the same problem and noticed defroster air flow was weak near the windshield's center. (See photos from @Final Drive in post 4 of this thread.)
I removed sleeper heat vent deflectors and taped them on top of defroster vents. Then I directed air flow to the windshield's center. Problem solved.LoboSolo Thanks this.
