Could even be some grooves worn into the spindle. That's one of the reasons I like the Stemco wheel seals since they've got that replaceable sleeve that goes onto the spindle.

Just remember, sealant needs to be used on wear ring ID, and seal OD on a stemco grit guard. The blue is paint. The green on CR/Scott is sealant. -

are they gold plated?
did your “mechanic” torque the wheel bearing correctly?
this can cause a seal to fail. -
- drums
- pads
- chambers
- slacks
- s cams
- 2x wheel seals and 4x bearings
