    Hi all! Just had to let you know that I just received approval for WIA funding to get my CDL! I start school on January 2 and will hopefully be on the road with my roommate by the end of the month! I'll keep you all posted on my progress! I feel like going out to celebrate tonight,:occasion5: but alas, I'm working 3rd shift this week. Oh, well, only one more week to go then I'll officially be a 'newbie'!:smt030 :hello1: :cheers: :biggrin:

    congrats keelady I also start on Jan 2nd and will graduate on the 20th. Hope your school is a good one , it must be or they wouldnt pay for it. Thats the way those places are , I got a grant too. My school is a good one too from what I hear, I have been talking to prospective employers and asking if they accept my school and everyone has said yes so far.

    I was going to start on the 26th but they offer additional $200 to start on the 26th. Hey I am like the next guy. Money is Money. Best of luck people on all of you starting on the 2nd. I did not get a grant. But I did get the Carrier to pay for most of the school.

    I hope to see the open road with a trainer the week of the 14th, all will tell in time. Keelady please keep us posted on your progress and your thoughts of your school. I will do the same.

    Dang.....and to think I went to a 4 day CDL school.....but then....I was driving my own truck !!! bought the truck before I had the CDL....talk about gettin' the cart before the horse !!!
    GOOD LUCK in School....and remember....its an Adventure....not a job....
    but safety is always first....
