I have driven with both o/o and company team drivers, they tend to let the o/o sit a lot. i was getting good miles as a company driver with a company truck now that I am with a o/o we tend to sit a lot. last week we did 1800 miles and when i was driving a company truck I was getting 4000+.
Also dispatchers make a difference. if you have one that knows what they are doing you will get good miles if you have one that can't think one step ahead, your miles will suck. and yes you have to kiss dispatchers ##### if you don't they will give you impossible loads or make you sit.
I like to drive for CRST but the o/o side of it seems to suck to me.

Have been with crst for 4+ years 26 months as an independent contractor me and my wife team run and the post on the student with the o/o i find kinda funny if he got a truck from crst then he did not read or pay attention in the class when he signed his contract the 10-11-12 cents per mile is not a hidden cost it is spelled out to u there in the contract and it is gone over in class that covers (tires 2500-3000 for a set of drives) PM oil change road service let him pay that out of his pocket to be up front i could not go back as a company driver and i do not look at miles i can get a load 600 miles that will pay the truck $1000 plus fuel or one that paid $1900 plus fuel for 2600 miles give me the load for 600 miles i can run that i one day the other is 2 days i will be on my next load before u drop and if i get another load 600 miles 800 to the truck plus fuel my pay is the same as yours with half the miles u put on your truck
all o/o with crst can broker there own loads i have learned a lot in the last year on brokering loads most brokers will pay more than that they ask for example going to be stuck in KC over the weekend found a conway load they need a team called them KC to LA 1600 miles they said 1800 I say i can not do it for that reply what do u need I will call u back I ave two years of every load the pay fuel surcharge how much i spent in fuel the weight of load everything i spent 10 15 mins. looking back throught my loads call her back 2575.00 is what i need she asked where i came up with a number like that i said here is my phone number i have a team truck with mt trailer ready to go 3 mins latter she calls back need u at the yard asap 2575.00 yes she said now not the best pay but better than sitting all weekend so if i am stuck somewhere i make the best of it and get my own loads but becareful when u broker a load u need a load that will move u somewhere to get a crst load because most crst loads will pay better some places u just dont want to go to i could tell but u have to learne that on your own and when not to go there

KBOOGIE I have an old email address I can post but don't know
how this site fills about stuff like that so my thouht is my truck number is 488M I live in CR I do look on this site a lot just have not had time
to reply to your post will be happy to teach u how to broker loads the best way to know on the rates are to keep records of every load u run from the rate to the weight , $ spent on fuel how much will come out of that load the most important thing is to learn to get the best rate and the only way u can do that is good records on the loads u get from Crst if u get on get loaded or Internet truck stop both cost money to get logged in if u are running as an I/C do not know if u are running as a team or solo team freight will give u better a better chance to get the top rate because there are not as many team trucks as solo
I am on the road now so if u see my truck just come
have helped couple other drivers out so no problem trying to help others out
will be online for couple hours so if u reply will see it
just sitting at the pilot in Columbus ,Ohio -
