I'm way down here in Laredo picking up beer. They are grilling chicken while working and it smells amazing. I'm going to chow down first chance I get.

Wow and abandoned truck and trailer. Someone was done. Do you guys do a lot of recoveries like that being a team?

Wow getting to keep your seniority is huge. What restaurant accounts do they do in that area? I know up here in KC they are always looking for drivers and the advertised pay keeps going up and up. The benefits from day 1 also is a huge attraction. I used to deliver to McLane in Memphis a lot when I did reefer and although sometimes it sucked, everyone there was real nice and the employees seemed happy. Anyway, this got long winded. Congratulations is what I was getting at!

We've done 2 recoveries in the last year. We do repower some loads for drivers who either weren't planned properly or that don't know how to manage their time or log book well enough to get the job done quite a bit. Our nick name sometimes is rescue rangers!! On a side note someday the owner will look at the line of empty trucks over there and maybe just maybe ask him self ( hmmm I wonder what i gotta do to take care of my drivers well enough to keep those assets filled with drivers an making me money instead of sitting there not paying for their selves? ) i doubt it , but a person can dream logic into any scenario ( SARCASM)

It is mileage practical route miles i think. Yea i know i should know how they calculate paid miles but i honestly never asked. At the time i hired in 4 yrs ago it was pretty much only place willing to give me a job. I had been out of truck for 3 yrs then. No recent experience was the problem. Other stuff but i won't go into that on here. They start everyone out at different rate per mile with no pay cap. But no pay cap is a bogus incentive if raises aren't given at a regular pace.

A solo driver can expect to make 50k to 65k here. I don't know what the senior drivers are knocking down as we're told not to discuss per mile rates with other drivers. An i don't really sit an chew the fat with too many drivers anyway. In my 4 yrs I've made 60k a yr tops. Won't hit that this year cuz my wife and i teaming just aren't getting enough miles for a team.

One thing I’ll miss bout being OTR is going to different cities and seeing what their food game is all about. Trust me I have packed a few pounds these past 2 years. Lol
