Fixed tandem, sliding tandem or can u turn it into a spread axle? Id think running a tandem with flatbed is hard due to the heavier weights than door slammers is pulling

    God prefers Diesels Thanks this.

Yeah but if u got 48k that fills up the whole deck, its gonna be hard to get legal on ur axles with a tandem . Atleast thats what id think? Ive never run a tandem flat

My boss used to work for a mega and ran a 53 that had a sliding axle. So there's a fleet out there thought it was worth buying those trailers...

The vast majority of our flatbed and step deck fleet (200 ish trailers) are 53’ sliding rear axle trailers. They look like a tandem when closed. We do have some regular sliding tandems but I don’t have a picture. 8F64120D-A4E9-4EFD-8AE1-21F3A82C9B7C.jpeg

Well now I'm hauling my 1st load of lumber 2x6x9 there are 16 bundles and about 44k lbs (a lot heavier then I thought).
So I waz told the loading guys know how to load so I let them they ended up putting to much weight on the drives so I had to take 2 lifts and put the on the back so I have it loaded like:
    2 lifts side by side
2 lifts stacked beside 2 lifts stacked
2 lifts stacked beside 2 lifts stacked
2 lifts stacked beside 2 lifts stacked
    2 lifts side by side.
I have 3 straps over each section of lifts.
I did not put and 4x4 under the front and back to slope into the center.
So is this to many straps ?
If its 44k lbs each lift would average 2750 lbs.
