Im a new flatbed owner op. I delivered a load to a worksite and was offloaded by a contractor company on the site. The ordering company now claims the freight was never delivered and the guy who signed my bills dont work for them nor the contracting company. The broker said they are threatening to file a claim. Never had a claim before so how is this handled and what is my next step?

I would recommend, that you get in touch with the job site. You may have to find out who the builder is. But first call the ordering company and try to get contact information for the jobsite. Good luck

Any cell phone photos or truck camera photos to identify the thieves?

Sounds like a scam. What did they use to offload you with? Is the site controller by a security company? If so ask the site manager for the name of the security company. Then call the security company and get the log in log out information for that day.

Your insurance will cancel you, or go up on your rate and other insurance companies will see that you have a claim and charge extra for it.

You need to find the freight. Contact some people it might even be worth going back there to prevent a damaged insurance record that will take years to remove

Good point. I was thinking more, thats its on the jobsite and they didn't realize it. I have have had brokers call me numerous times, an hour after I delivered, saying that they just hung up with the receiver and they waiting for me, and when will I be there. I inform them that I delivered an hour ago and have signed BOL's in hand. And further advise them to have everyone drug tested in the warehouse as they all must be on crack......

Seems unlikely thieves were impersonating whoever was suppose to unload him. Did they have the real lumpers tied up in back?

Assuming somebody isn’t trying to run a scam, it sounds like he went to the wrong job site and somebody working for the GC unloaded him without question.

Contact your insurance agent. He/ she can give you some advice.
The signed delivery receipt shows it was on site.
The phone numbers you have (a record of) called to verify delivery address, should further verify delivery.
Call the police and file a theft charge if customer claims they don't have it.
Bring as much heat as you can.
    Good luck.
