Can someone pls input some information how to do it the right way . I did order kit from popular truck part web site and it includes everything i need for install , but after doing some measurements here and there i believe this kit is only to add air ride comfort , my goal is to lower the front end 4-5 inches ( hate the gap between the tire and fender ) , some guys suggested to run 24.5 tall tire on steer but i doubt i will get desired look . Just ordered 2 bags from rear 8 bag kw suspension as one guy did and posted video on youtube to play around . I have seen many guys with lowered trucks remove 1 of 2 leaves on the front - how safe it is ? Also would like to install probably leveling valve ( similar like for drive air bags ) .
I appreciate any information , trying to build the kit or modify existing one to my specs .
I know another option is pete car hauler axle ...dont realy want to go that route , i think it will be more expensive ...maybe not

Perfectly safe removing leafs. The main leafs will keep the alignment and allow the bag to Cary the weight. You can remove the spacer (block) that’s under the axle as well. Double check the axle to oil pan clearance.
Good luck and keep us posted.Big_D409, KB3MMX, tommymonza and 4 others Thank this. -
I've seen people have a separate valve on each side with an electric switch on the dash and you can run as much air as you like in it and drop all the air out if you want. It keeps it a little cleaner just running one wire to the dash verses multiple air lines. I'm considering adding it to my truck. I think it would be nice for windy days. You could add a couple more psi to the one side and it would help steer it into the wind. This doesn't really answer your question of how to permanently lower it tho.

Would that make enough difference to need to adjust the drive line angle?

Some Front axels can have a 3.5 drop or a 5.5 drop
5.5 drop with air ride , looks great .
that's buying a new front axel. Though.KB3MMX Thanks this. -
That is the goal

Not sure if you do Facebook but hit up Sweet Ride Logistics out of Haugan Montana. They have most of their trucks including a couple 660’s on their air ride steer kits.

Some photos, left, right and new axle my last truck Hendrickson steertek axle how is set up ,volvo 780/2008 . This axle was a nightmare, leaking air springs, fittings ,leveling valves malfunction, very sensitive to height adjustments, once one side came out of specs the truck was bouncing like mad horse. I purchased a measuring gauge and re-adjust the height quite often. Then it bent in tow it's very flimsy, welded hollow, i purchased new beam. The springs are different are single leaf to accommodate the air spring. My axle was heavy duty over 13,000 lbs had larger air springs and lower pressure, i had a gauge on the dash was sitting around 20-30 psi, the lighter axle was fit with smaller volume, diameter airspings and higher operating pressure ,but i hear people complaining that was more rough . I hope works for you upgrading a normal axle just for comfort .

Did the 12 gauge kit on mine in my shop, one leaf and remove all the spacers and blocks. I’ve had the kit for over 2 years no problem. Only thing I would advise with a leveling valve is to possibly put a air operated shock on it for when you need to jack the front end higher in a pinch. Mine is all electric on a rocker switch, just pump it up to 45 psi on my gauge and ride on.
