:biggrin_25524:Well I'm really close to buying a truck because I cant see my self sweating or freezing in my home away from home because of these companys crazy idle policy and speed aint to much of a big deal but that doesnt mean that I want to go 60 mph everywhere either:biggrin_25513: so Im thinking of staying on the reefer side and I know I have to get insurance to drive off the lot with the truck or can I have a company lined up and get it from them? I want to keep my cost down as much as possible going in to this. I know the basics about what it will cost me to operate my truck but I know I'm looking over stuff. I plan on financing a truck and leasing on with a carrier so that would be another battle finding a company that runs reefer that will sign me on. Any info I would very much appericated.

OMG right...... I yelled at GR yesterday for running the truck... he claims he was making sure the batteries had a good charge.... we all know he just likes the sound of the motor. :biggrin_2559:

Sbatson- you may think differently about idling when your first fill up cost over $500. I know I do...

Most dealers can set you up on a 30 day ins. plan till you get signed on somewhere then if you want theirs its up to ya.

Remember though if you quit you lose your bobtail coverage to go home and to another carrier. I recomend buying your own from an outside agent.

Oh and idle time will diminish when you buy the fuel trust us lol
another note is dont bother trying to buy till you got a lease intent in your hand.

Ideling is a killer.. thats when you decide to pony up for an APU.... just when you decide to get one, stay away from rigmaster... Thermo King seems to be the best in my fleet. All my trucks are outfitted with APU's...

How much are those thermo King APU's? Is there any govt help with buying them? you'd think so as much as they hate idlein trucks.
