Got a yearly DOT inspection on my truck because I had blown a brake chamber so was already stuck at a Loves shop. After I passed they gave me the paper that checks everything off and a sticker. Does the sticker need to be displayed somewhere? Is it a DOT rule or is there any good reason to post it?

I thought they did away with the sticker requirements,don’t have time to look.
@ZVarRunningAces Thanks this. -
I put mine right inside the door by the other stickers with VIN # and GVW. That way it’s protected from the weather, but easy to show any DOT officer.
Beaver9, Accidental Trucker and RunningAces Thank this. -
Since @Scalemaster is posting again hopefully he knows the answer.062 and Accidental Trucker Thank this. -
I know the white paper ones can’t be read after a couple months. -
My truck passed inspection today.
Your post is just what I needed. -
I sticker is not required. Just need paper with the proof the inspection was done.

Actual posting of sticker has never been mandatory.

Thanks everyone, l will put the sticker in with the other paperwork so atleast I will have it on hand.
Wespipes, Rideandrepair, blacklabel and 1 other person Thank this. -
The answer is on the sticker if ya think about it....... all the sticker says is where the inspection report can be found. If ya keep the report in the truck then ya don’t need the sticker.
For 9 years now I’ve never had the sticker on my trucknikmirbre and Rideandrepair Thank this.
