Check for fuel leak and make sure air intake is ok, also check cold air return hose for blockage. If ok run it until it shuts down again and check if the blower motor to see if it s seizing up.

Sorry to hear about your truck but yours was an electrical fire which 99% of the time if it is inside the cab/sleeper, it is an electrical issue.

heaters just don’t explode, they don’t overheat unless there is a serious malfunction of the control unit (extremely rare) with many times if people don’t keep a clear area around the heater to prevent a contact fire, then a possible fire is slim slim but still possible. some of the trucks I’ve looked at to buy had them covered up with rags and one with a can of ether on the side.

Chinese or German, they all work the exact same way, they use fuel metering from the fuel pump, which is how it controls the temperature, if there is a malfunction, it stops working unless there is a serious malfunction of the control board which is very unlikely.

Those aren't really 5k. They are 2k. I see them listed as all sorts of different sizes but every single Chinese one I've ever looked at or heard of is 2k, and they are super popular on offroad/RV/vanlife forums.

This isn't a bad thing, all the Espar/Webastos in big rigs are 2k as well, as far as I know. Plenty of heater for the space. If it's too cold for a 2k heater to keep you warm it's time to idle the truck.

Electrical fires are typically the result of a electrical issue, otherwise it wouldn’t be an electrical fire.

Total cost with US shipping for that option would be 149AUD.
    Payment via paypal. ~110$
