Most co's have requirements on who to hire, but, if trucks are sitting empty, they can adjust their requirements to get their equipment rolling.

My outfit used to require 5 years experience at the time I came here.

    Not anymore...

you are re-hireable up until the time you die. just do not let your DOT expire, cuz then the CDL will be downgraded, and then you'd have to do it all over again, like school testing, etc.

All you have to go is go to the DMV and self-cerifty your medical as "Excepted". You cannot drive commercially but your CDL will be safe. I did this for the second time last year.

I was unhirable about a month after I got my own numbers. As soon as I realized I could do this gig my way and make more money and be happier there is no way anyone will ever hire me again being as picky as I am.

    Good luck.

Swift has very strict policies about alcohol in the truck, as do most Companies. WAY TOO MUCH LIABILITY.
