I’m surprised that Trucks less 240” WB now. Looks to be at least 250”. Nice Truck, big sleeper. Front axle sits back a little. It’s going to look a lot longer than 270” anyways. Just make sure you have enough room. I see a sleeper extension in your future. Lol. Now that my wife runs with me, I’d like to have more room. If you go longer, you’ll say, I shouldn’t have listened to that fool!! About 7 mos later, you’ll say, glad I listened to that fool!!! You gotta plan ahead, you’re about to run out of things to do. You’ll be looking at custom paint, and straight pipes, in no time. Lol. Seriously, I noticed on my frame, there’s a plate behind the cross members. Maybe you can add a crossmember, inside the frame, after sleeving the inside, with the right size plate. I don’t know anything about stretching a frame. Just a thought. The plate on mines starting to rust jack off the frame, or I wouldn’t have known it was even there.

A lot depends on the welder. And where you cut at. I have seen them pieced together at a cross member and not. When my Oldman use to do them he would weld butted together and weld a diamond plate over the butted weld. Never had a failure.

    Sleeve inside,diamond plate outside.
Why run the risk off it cracking?

I don’t think that would be nessasary? Never seen a semi frame plated on the outside? Some say if you do a good job welding it’s not needed to even sleeve the inside.

Don’t think I need to go that far? I’m going to try and TIG it so it should be a nice weld job with a minimum HEZ.

Diamond plate on the outside? Strong or not, that would be something dang fugly.

Was the diamond plate on the inside or outside? Just curious.

I think his 9400 is the same wheel base as my 9300 just set back axle I have my original build sheet showing my wheelbase just not handy this second.

My company Western star 4900sb had the exact same wheelbase as my 9300 international , side by side axle to axle . Just the nose was 18 inches longer.

And even though the International bunk is sold as a 72inch it is the same length as the Western Stars 60inch , just wider up top where the Western Star slopes in. Much roomier feeling.

Makes me cringe a little watching a frame get chopped and lengthened, but I ain’t no welder. You’d have to really know what you’re doing to make a modification like that.
