So 2 more questions.
1-- Can peanut oil be used in lieu of any of the 4 oils listed. Only ask because I have some left over from Thanksgiving. If not, which of the other 4 listed do you like best..?
2-- What the heck can I actually use this dang kettle for.? I was hoping to be able to use it for something other than boiling water!! Lol![]()

You can use peanut oil. But oil with a higher flash point is better for seasoning. The higher the flash point, the hotter you can get the piece of cast iron before the oil burns off. I think this allows it penetrate the metal better and give a better finish.PoleCrusher, jamespmack, beastr123 and 5 others Thank this.
