When I was a resident of CA the rules were that the firearm and ammo must remain separate, not in the same bag, and the firearm must be in a locked case.

The gotcha is that a magazine or a speed loader for revolvers is considered part of the firearm. So having a loaded mag in a locked container completely separate from the firearm is still considered a loaded gun.

Better to be Tried by 12 than carried by 6......Sorry I just had to say it.:p

I bought a couple lock cases that are both California DOJ and TSA approved for transporting guns. Both of the pistols I like to carry fit in one with the 6 empty clips. The other will hold plenty of ammo. Only need one when I fly as the ammo can go in my luggage as long as it is in the original packaging.

    Delaware,
Gun needs to be visible on the dash or on the seat..concealed is a felony :)

fwiw..these are “transport laws” as in going through the state and not stopping..stopping even for fuel is a gray area.

The first line in the comment i quoted says " Illinois allows you to carry on your person " so thats sounds like a carry discussion to me . But I could be wrong .
