I was north of Cedar Rapids for that Iowa fun. It started getting icy as hell, and the gps was showing 4 accidents ahead. Took the exit and went back 8 miles to the truck stop and shut down early. Next morning there were a dozen plus cars scattered here and there off the side of the road. I'm glad I had a place to shutdown. Luck was on my side.

Funny thing about that Blizzard was I was seeing almost exclusively owner-operators in the ditch. I know when I worked for Marten they would call me and tell me I was coming to a mandatory shutdown area. Perhaps the Megas are using technology to make their Drivers shut down.

One time my dispatcher called me and told me I was coming into some fog. 2 seconds later I was in probably the densest fog I've ever seen. It was crazy.
