My husband gets paid a percentage of the load. Does he have a legal right to see what the load actually pays?
We are in Virginia and so is the company if that makes a difference.
The company was putting an amount on his paper work, but now they have stopped doing that. The last time they did this we found out that they had raised the rates, but didn't want to give the drivers any more money.
Thanks for any help

No problem, we have hundreds of lawyers on this site, one will entertain you shortly !! Or maybe ask OOIDA, and get their opinion !!

Yes if you are being paid percentage then you have a right to see what the company
is billing the customer..
I wish I had a link to back this up but I don't, I do remember reading it somewhere
though. -

If you are getting paid on a 1099, you are really getting screwed!!!!!!!! And walking on dangerous ground. Not only are you liable for all your taxes, plus you have no workman's comp, if you are involved in any type of accident, you are on your own, because you are considered an independent contractor, no "company umbrella".

What if I get a copy of the bills. Can I use them if I find out they are cheating us? And who would I report it too?
Thanks

But thats just me. I dont think a copy of the bills are gonna get ya much. If its who I think it maybe out of bristol, he might can snoop around and score a broker load confirmation sheet with the rate on it..
Other than that keep us posted -
Perhaps the simplest thing to do is to play dumb, and say they used to give you this info and now they don't, is it a mistake? Depending on how they answer, go from there.

Ah, the old "percentage pay" scheme. Consider this; trucking companies can manipulate those figures slicker than a 3 card monty, good ol' boy behind the back row down at Diddy's truck stop. You need to finish the sentence "percentage pay". Percentage pay of what? Before or after the companies fee off the top? Before or after "expenses"? Fuel? Deadhead miles? Brokers fees? Administration fees? Gross or net to the truck? Confused yet? That's exactly where payroll wants you to be.
