    Redd:
    You can look all day on that fuel ticket and you won't find a time stamp but then you've never watched a DOT scale officer or the DOT auditor take that fuel ticket that you paid cash for from ANY of the major fuel stops or even some of the smaller ones, but here's the deal;
    They have the way to go into the fuel stops data base and take that ticket number off of the ticket run it and presto there is the time you hung up the pump down to the freaking SECOND! I sat and watched them do it a few years ago during an audit! Just point and click on the truck stop he needed.

    Keep on believing that "no time stamp" deal until it come back and bites you on your arse! Even those scale tickets that don't have the time printed on them (Flying J for one) came off of a computer! EVERYTHING that goes through a computerized system has a time attached to it. That's how they work even your own laptop will call you a lair as yep it keeps track of what you do from the time you start it to the time you turn it off and the same goes for that truck you're driving! Even if you are an O/O and that engine has a ECM it'll tell on you as soon as the DOT investigators plug in to it! Even that cell phone is sitting there telling the world where you are!

    Sorry people, but the future is now here and big brother has us by the short hairs and theres not a thing you can do about it! Higher pay can be demanded but that's a pike dream and we all know it! We're stuck with trying to "get away" with what we can but for every piece of electronic gadget we buy we're digging our selves deeper! Run it legal and let the companies realize that the drivers know more that the college children they hire! It just might change....ROFLMAO!

    I've been with these people for almost 1 year now now, before that there were quite a few others. I've tried to make it 1 year with each job before I jumped ship. Honestly, I think that is what is killing my chances of finding a good OTR job even! The good jobs see that job history and will exclude me right away, they can find a dozen people with a more "stable" work history. What can I say, it's my fault, I should have stayed in one place instead of 13, and now I will pay the price.

    What a stress filled day! It started out great, the load I picked up from Jackson,GA was 1 (one) pallet of Burger King pre-made salads! I thought someone made a mistake! It couldn't have weighed more than 200 lbs! I was going to Batesville, MS with it. I couldnt believe it!
    I got to the recv'r at Midnite and that's when the fecal matter hit the rotating blades! They refused to let me deliver 1 pallet until 0600! No talking to these Morons, so I went to a full t/s and hung out till 0500. I get back to the customer and sat for 30 mins, a lumper tells me it will cost $30 for them to unload 1 pallet! Picture this: 1 pallet about knee high, 60 cases of only 1 product, so no "sort and segregate", just pull the 1 pallet off the truck, count 4 layers 15 cases per layer, $30!!! I DONT THINK SO! I tell the lumper I think I can handle the unload myself,thank you.
    He tells me they normally have a $40 minimun lumper fee and he is doing me a favor by only charging $30, and if I dont pay him $30 that every other truck in the future, he will charge $40 !(I found out we do 3 loads a week just like this one, every week). I said to him, are you forcing me to use your lumper service? Do you know that is against federal regulations to force a driver to use a lumper? Do you really want to pursue this issue any further?
    Well, this went on for a few more minutes, finally he gave up and walked away all pissed off! I off-loaded my 1 pallet myself and then waited 2.5 HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO COUNT THE #### FREIGHT !!
    Needless to say, I was not a happy person when I left but I did NOT PAY the $30.
    On a sidenote, my grand-daughter was born Oct 17th, I have been asking to go home since that afternoon (call me weird, I'd kinda like to meet the kid!). That was 12 days ago and I STILL DONT HAVE ANY IDEA WHEN I AM GOING TO GET HOME! What do I have to do to make these idiots understand, the last time I was home was Oct 4th and now I have a new grand-daughter to meet, IT IS TIME TO GO HOME!!!
    AS YOU CAN PLAINLY SEE, KNIGHT DOES NOT GIVE A #### ABOUT THEIRS DRIVERS OR WHAT WE NEED OR WANT! LET MY EXPERIENCE BE A WARNING TO ANYONE THAT IS THINKING OF WORKING FOR THESE PEOPLE! STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT A LIFE OUT OF THEIR TRUCK!

    You are correct. It is not right, unfortunately until we as truckers band together, things will not change.

    It does suck... We waited 21 hours in Seattle, then another 15 in Atlanta. The problem is the shippers do not care, it does not cost them anything to have us sit there.

    There's really no reason why it shouldn't. They are supposed to be charged for delays. Nobody in the office has a spine.

    This may sound weird coming from me but...it's not the people in the office that dont have a spine, it's your company mgt. team who is so afraid to piss off a customer nowadays b/c the cust. can and will give the freight to another carrier to save .02 cents!

    Well, I was supposed to p/u a load in Brownsville, TN to to to Sterling, IL and then they had a load from there that was going to get me home by Saturday. I got to Brownsville, signed the bills and dropped my empty and got a phone call. Some one flaked out and I need to drop what I am doing and drive to Sikeston, MO to get a load of ice cream to Rock Mart, GA. Totally the wrong direction from home in Ohio! I threw a fit, but what the hell was I supposed to do? I cant get home to find another job! These people suck!
    More later.
