The classic with a set forward front axle, just like any truck with a set forward front axle and a long wheelbase, takes a football field to turn around.

In contrast the famous FLD120 with a setback front axle will back you into places you could never imagine.

So unless there is something really wrong with your truck that's just the way it is.

Turn in stoppers by kingpins. Other than that, nothing you can really do.

Adjust axle stops and steering box if needed. Can only go so far before the tires start rubbing. Might get a couple more degrees of wheel cut.

Does it turn equally bad in either direction?
Or is better in one direction?

Pretty bad in both, coming from a columbia, the classic seems to be going straight when the wheel is all the way to one side

D.Tibbitt, Rideandrepair and Hulld Thank this.

    Ok
If it’s close to equal your steering linkage is phased probably.
So like others have said you can only gain a slight amount by adjusting the stops but that’s it.
On another note I have a Columbia and I am at 75 feet and can put the truck about anywhere I want to.
With the set back axel it’s a whole different animal.
