If you are 21 when you get your CDL your choices of a place to work are basically Werner and Swift. And i doubt swift would be giving me tons more money.

I don't think they do not know what they are talking about. Just maybe inexperienced or misinformed. Of course when you're still wet behind you ears. Mistakes will be made. But from experience one can only become better. No one is born a truck driver it's a skill that has to be learned.

In time one becomes better and better. But this still doesn't change the fact the a company can care about it's driver. The way the look at it is anyone can be replaced or do the job. Not neccessary better but do the job. Ever hear the saying "A monkey can do it better" I'm not implying that we are monkeys, but companies look at it that way. In my opinion a happy employee is a more productive employee. They would go the extra distance for you. But the trucking industry is not runned like that. Or for any matter the job industry. Companies have logos or mottos. It's just to make them like pleasing to the customer.

I just recently turned my truck in at the Omaha terminal. From what I see you would be better served looking for another company. It is much much different than when I started over 5 years ago. It didn't look pretty. 70k in your first year? Don't bogard that my friend!:biggrin_2559:
