Hey gentlemen,
Dad’s “new” truck has a 475 ISX in it. We’re wondering how much we can safely turn this thing up. It’s got a very fresh overhaul. It’s a 02 with 2629 CPL.
He’s really struggling with the 475 coming from a 550 Cat. Especially when we’re usually around 100,000 lbs.
Can we get 550 out of it? Or is 500 the limit? Someone told me these won’t go up very high. I never did any of the tuning or really messed with the older ISXs.

Folks over at rawze would probably be better to talk to.
If you have someone turn it up that doesn’t know what they’re doing you’ll have a lot bigger headaches.Dreambig747, Hye, God prefers Diesels and 2 others Thank this. -
I have a 475 isx it's a 2006 when I had it rebuilt had it raised to 550 and no problems for 4 years.
Dave_in_AZ, Sparkie, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
@Sparkie is it a signature series CM570 or just a regular ISX CM870?? The CM570 or signature series where factory rated to 600 and the CM870 had the EGR and factory rated to 550hp so need to know which one you got. But like other have said try over on RAWZE, lots of cummins guys there

It’s pre egr. Late 01 or early 02. I’ve been told a few times now it’s good to 600. We just want to go up to 550 or so. -
