Got a run coming up to Somerset, KY. Leaving from Hagerstown, Md. Looks like my route will be I70, I68, I79, I77, I64, I75 and the some state roads to my drop off on Highway 27 in Somerset. Looks pretty straight forward. Just wondering if anyone has made a run to that area and if so, how long it took and any problems to watch for. Also was wondering how well they keep the roads clear if it snow. Especially I68. Probably leaving Wednesday morning about 6:00 AM. Looks like the weather will be okay but you never know.

Ive taken that route but don't recall how long it took, like you said its pretty straight forward. 68 can get pretty hairy if its snowing... Not sure how heavy you will be but both 68 and 79 have lots of hills to climb.
Definitely do not stop at the Walmart in Berea, KY off 75. They will boot your truck...bryan21384, 4mer trucker, Hye and 1 other person Thank this. -
About 8 hours or so.

Going that way tomorrow from Mayfield Kentucky, looks like some heavy rain out of the west all day, but no snow.

Snow storm heading your way. Hopefully you’ll miss most of it. Best to just take 75 to London, exit 41 and run 80 over to 27. I would avoid 27 out of Lexington. It’s a good road to Somerset, but not any quicker, especially with snow. Also best to head out back east or west to Bowling Green after empty. Just don’t go south on 27 headed out. It’s a long skinny road with some real steep slow hills, takes forever to get to 40. And be careful on 68 through Cumberland. If it’s snowing, go slow down the hill.

Slow run if you're heavy. Up down, up down.

Respect 68 & 79...!
Not a bad run. When you get to Winchester, Kentucky on I-64, get off exit 94 (627 truck exit ) and turn left. Run it out a couple miles and turn right on to 627.... that will drop you out on I-75 at exit 95.... save you about 15-18 miles driving.
There is a Love's Truckstop where you get on 75, also a Truckstop where you jump off 64...Last edited: Jan 26, 2021

I-64 exit 133 Sharky Ky. Down home restaurant in small Truckstop has good food. Same with 1-75 exit 41. London Truck stop.
