Yep its the same thing. All it accomplishes is giving the operator better throttle response and dumping more soot in the oil. A fuel temp fooler harness is worth more HP and better for the motor.txviking Thanks this.

Sandman1976, I'm in NC also and can get you some more power for that Cat, I don't have enough post , but been on here a long time get a moderator to send me your contact email or phone # thanks Rob

I've been thinking of getting both, but wiring the boost harness to a dashboard switch so that I can leave it off for normal driving but turn it on for better throttle response and a smoke show.

Well, I just ordered one of these things off eBay. Will let y'all know how it works out when it arrives. For those of you who already have them, what are your experiences so far?
-
When ya get the boost harness.... if ya would, before you install it, measure the OHMS to see what size resistor they are using.
-
i checked on ebay and there is a guy that makes them right here in nc,so i'll try to contact him on the harness.
-
Will do. I'm curious myself, as I've seen a number of different values suggested in various places.

robsredford did u get my info i sent to u? if not give me a call 919-247-0183

Let me see if I can clear this up. If you splice your switch into the wire on one side of the in-line resistor it's only going to throw a code because turning the switch off would be like disconnecting that wire from the sensor. I plan on connecting my switch to both sides of the resisitor (not splicing, but connect in parallel) so that when the switch is closed(on) it gives the current a path around the resistor (current follows the path of least resistance) and effectively takes the resister out of the circuit and functions as a straight through cable.
I'm thinking the same thing, I already have an unused optional rocker switch on the dash that's begging for it. I might use a relay, depends on the resistance from the wiring and switch, if it's low enough I probably won't bother. I think I'll order a set of the 2-pin switches like the fuel line uses to connect the switch wire to my harness as well. Make it look professional.
Please, I wish someone with a good ohm meter that knows how to use it would do this for both cables. If you have a meter and aren't sure, if you can get in touch with me I can step you through it, it's not hard. It can be done with the cable in tact, not mods necessary.
