If you use the MOZILLA or FireFox browsers (GAWD, I don't know why anyone would use I.E.) you can D/L a "Spell Check" PLUG-in that works nice.....not that I EVER need to use it, or anything like that....
-
Just a little idea here but could we possibly post a sticky suggesting a spell check done on posts to outside forums that reference this one? Case in point, the lawyer from NJ.

What I have noticed even though we are a huge trucker forum
That many members call this home and consider a good amount of our members as personal cyberfriends
With so many different personalities and back grounds its understandable that some issues will come to light that can be worked on
And one of those would be spelling
Lets take a little different look at the issue
Please respect all members even if they lack ability in spelling and grammar
Reminding them or dismissing what they have to say in public forum serves only to embarrass that member and alienate what could be a valuable source with vast experience to share
Mom used to say "if you don't have anything good to say don't say anything at all"
For all the bad spellers like myself, I use spell check all the time
Heck my spelling is so bad sometimes spell check cant even figure out the word I'm trying to use LOL
Please use our provided free service (link provided by Wiseone)Download IE Spell Check

I don't use spell check. I have no need for it. My husband says I am a walking encyclopedia/dictionary. (I don't know whether to take that as an insult or compliment.)
However, my husband is severely dyslexic. His handwriting resembles that of a Kindergartener, his spelling is scary, and when writing his grammar is horrendous!
But, THAT DOES NOT MAKE HIM ANY LESS INTELLIGENT! And he has to be intelligent to get as far as he has in this world, in spite of disability! When it comes to trucks, the trucking industry, anything to do with the logistics of this industry, he can do it! In less than five minutes he can route plan anything you give him, and tell you the milage the hours needed, where the cell phone dead zones on the trip are....
I feel sorry for those who would discount what he has to say on anything in this industry simply because they struggle to read what he writes. They are discounting alot of knowledge and experience. They actually have my pity.
And unfortunately, using spell check with a severely dyslexic person's writing is a HUGE mistake! It makes readability WORSE! I'm serious. I've tried using spell check on his writing. Even having a vague notion of what he was trying to say, I could not find it in what was there when spell check got done with it.
My husband IS a member here. But he only posts a little here and there. Only among people he knows are close enough friends of mine to understand his problem. And it's because of those who nit-pick spelling, grammar and such.Baack, Ducks, Texas-Nana and 1 other person Thank this. -
This makes me very angry. That petty people and their childish attempts to elevate themself by insulting another could prevent someone from expressing themself.
I sincerely hope he'll begin posting more.simplyred1962, GuysLady and JustSonny Thank this. -
I'm working on that Nana.

Well sometimes i dont spell so great, and i go back before i actually post to try to catch mistakes, but sometimes i dont catch them, and i dont always put commas and periods where they belong, but the thing is, i get my point across in the end. Look at the post that i think southernpride posted just the other day on this very matter. I guess if wise one or any of the other mods want to kick people out of here for bad spelling, then theres going to be a whole lot less members left here in the long run.

We have no intentions of kicking anyone out of here because of their spelling.
Sometimes people have very good/legit reasons for being poor at spelling, or grammar. Sometimes it is because a person has a learning disability, or they may be dyslexic, or they may have even had a stroke. Without actually knowing the person who is making the post it is hard to say what's going on, and people need to be a little more tolerant of posts that are not grammatically correct, or with some misspelled words.Admin, Lil Blue Pony, Pur48Ted and 4 others Thank this. -
