Need advice please! I just purchased my first truck. I have set up my LLC in North Dakota, where I thought I would be working; however, I ended up leasing on to a company in Illinois. I actually live in Oregon, and I am trying to register my truck there. I currently operate under the other company's US DOT and MC. I do have my own US DOT number. What do I need to do to properly register my truck at this point? Thanks in advance for any help!

Why did you do an LLC out of your domicile state.

The intention had originally been that I would be moving to ND, but after forming the LLC, things changed.

Have you tried going to the ODOT website and reading the information there?

I have. It isn't terribly clear, and I can't get anyone on the phone in Salem. I was under the impression that because I'm operating under another company's US DOT and MC, I do not yet need my own. However, ODOT doesn't seem to offer an option to register without those. If the company is providing plates, do I even need to register my truck?

You do not have to be titled and registered in the same state. Your truck will be registered by your company as they are supplying the plates.

This. If you're running their plates, their authority, etc then it's all taken care of in that. Just make sure they have the Oregon fuel permit setup for whenever you're swinging through.
