Went to Houston sunday/Monday. Looked at a short hood classic. Ended up being a wasted trip. The thing was slick in pictures but she was choochin out the blow by tube once it was warm. Also could only turn 1 turn to the left and 4 to the right

After breaking my foot im not gonna do any cross country races or mx LOL. There's a 300ft dirt drag strip 20 min from the house. Gonna compete in the modified 450 class next year.
Rules are 450cc max and anything else goes besides nitrous. Gonna do a 14.1 piston, ARP stud kit. Send out the head to CT racing and have em PP the head + 2mm valves and a 5 angle valve job and a set of radical .500 lift cams650cat425, dwells40, PoleCrusher and 7 others Thank this. -
I'm so behind the times on quads. Last time I rode it was probably 6 or 7 years ago.650cat425, PoleCrusher, cke and 6 others Thank this.

My favorite northland commuter wagon. That and Astro vans. I've driven both for about 1 million km each.
A few guys have put 6.0L into Astro vans.650cat425, dwells40, PoleCrusher and 8 others Thank this. -
The 6.0L seems pretty bottled up in terms of performance from factory. They're what, 300 hp in the early years? Been told they have a lot of potential with the right goodies.650cat425, Brettj3876, PoleCrusher and 6 others Thank this.

Cheap, easy, almost bulletproof. A ton of info on dropping an intake and a carb on em and instant 400hp out there. I have no experience with that.
I've only ever owned 1 half ton, with a 5.3. Very snappy.650cat425, PoleCrusher, Tug Toy and 6 others Thank this. -
I had the 4.8L. Would have been a much better truck if GM put 4.10 gears in it instead of 3.42. If the road was even slightly sloped upwards the torque converter would unlock. Engine was much happier running at 2,200-2,500 than it was at 1,700ish.
Can't complain about it. Ran it with an Airaid intake, catback exhaust and a tune from pretty much new. In over 300k all it ever got was 2 sets of plugs/wires and regular oil changes. Only failure I had was the throttle body stepper motor at around 180k. When I traded it in there wasn't even so much as a leak or even a minor sweat anywhere on that engine. Dry as the day I drove it out of the showroom.650cat425, dwells40, PoleCrusher and 7 others Thank this. -
They get some crazy hp #s out of those. Few guys over 4000hp650cat425, PoleCrusher, singlescrewshaker and 4 others Thank this.

I wonder if Western Express hires owner operators
Or maybe they do, but anyone with half a brain wouldn’t drive for them...
